University Facilities for the Institute
Medicinal Plants Garden:
University Campus has five flourished botanical gardens occupying an area of nearly 10 acres of land, having more than 150 medicinal plant species grown for teaching and training purposes. Another big garden of nearly 35 acres has been located about 25 km away from the main campus and has more than 100 varieties of medicinal plants.
Ayurvedic Pharmacy:
The university has an Ayurvedic pharmacy, which manufactures drugs as per classical formulations for the use of University Hospitals. On the basis of the experiences of physicians and researches done at Gujarat Ayurved University, an Ayurvedic medical Kit of 30 drugs has been prepared, which contains formulations for the management of common ailments like cold, cough, fever, vomiting and diarrhea etc.
International Centre for Ayurvedic Studies:
Being a WHO collaborative centre for Ayurveda, the university has become a center of attraction for foreigners. The centre has started a three month introductory course in Ayurveda in 1990. Since then students from the countries like Australia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Japan, Korea, Mauritius, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, USA, UK, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Maldives, Germany, Bangladesh, Iran, South Africa, Latvia, Russia, Italy, Slovenia, Canada etc. are comming to this University to attend various courses. Since 1998, the University has broadened its objectives and set a goal to popularize Ayurveda globally. Many new courses have been designed exclusively for foreign nationals. To coordinate all these activities and to provide exclusive information to foreign nationals, an International Centre for Ayurvedic Studies (ICAS) has been established in 1999. This center coordinates the admission of foreign nationals in various short-term and long-term courses and provides technical and administrative support to them. Till date 81 scholars in long term and 109 scholars in short term courses have been trained in Ayurveda.
Central Library:
The central library of the University has a collection of more than 30,000 books on various subjects. This Library caters the needs of the students and also supplies books to the various departmental libraries. In addition to this, the library has a huge collection (about 7644) of rare hand written manuscripts, out of which around 600 belongs to Ayurvedic Science. Considering the significance of these manuscripts, the institute has done digitization  of these age old tradition, which definitely saves this less visible, most valuable cultural inheritances with an intention to enhance access, spread awareness and encourage their utilization for educational and research purposes.

Press & Publications:
The Press & Publication department of the University has published more than 30 books.
